American Red Cross offers a Babysitting Training course which teaches professional behavior, good business practices, and action plans to take care of different kinds of injuries, emergencies and illnesses that children can experience. These classes are taught at the chapter house located at 113 South Water St, Crawfordsville. To register call 362-3103
American Red Cross also offers membership in its American Red Cross Club to high school students in all three county schools. Students learn about the services offered by the Red Cross and volunteer in areas of interest.

4-H fosters life skill development through hands-on learning opportunities for youth. Caring volunteers contribute to positive youth development. Youth ages two through grade 1 can be involved in the Clover Buds program. Youth in grade 2 can be involved in Mini 4-H, while youth in grades 3-12 may be involved in the 4-H program. A wide range of project choices are available for urban or rural youth interests. Junior Leaders are 4-H members in grades 7-12 that develop leadership through service learning. Teachers have the opportunity to take advantage of several school enrichment program options available for use in the classroom.

JUMP is similar to Big Brothers/Big Sisters in that it works to match adult mentors with young people between the ages of 6 and 17 who are in need of an additional positive adult role model.

Teen Court is an alternative first-time juvenile offender program in which youth can become involved in one of two ways. Youth who have committed a first-time or minor offence can be referred by the County Probation Department for participation in court or any middle and high school student wanting to learn more about the judicial system can volunteer as a juror or attorney in Teen Court
