ASI Adult Day Care provides a long-term care alternative addressing the needs and concerns of older adults or disabled persons and their families.  Participants may include older adults who are living with physical challenges, in need of assistance with personal care, socially isolated, or those experiencing memory loss.  Adult Day Care provides a safe and pleasant environment during daytime hours.  Please call for fees and scheduling arrangements.

Patient  are to be uninsured and not be on Medicaid. Since we have no Dr. at the time our services are limited to dressing changes, blood pressure checks, blood sugar checks and assistance with payment of some prescriptions. We can also assist with referral to DDS for teeth extraction(s). We are unable to do physicals or examinations.

On the 2nd Tuesday of the month from 12- 3 pm we offer free, confidential HIV, Syphilis and Hep C testing.  The clinic operates at the Milligan Presbyterian Church. The Adult Health Clinic is a program of the Christian Nursing Service.

The local chapter raises money for research, literature on cancer, and provides health services and supplies such as wigs and wheelchairs.  The hotline has information about the latest treatments, hospitals, and can answer other questions about cancer.

Nonprofit agency providing a variety of services for seniors, persons with disabilities, and their caregivers/families. For questions regarding services, please contact the Lafayette central office – as there are specialists on call M-F, 8 to 5. The Montgomery Co. office is the base for the in-home services case managers, and they are not always in the office. The Agency serves Montgomery County along with 7 other counties. Services include: 1) Link-Age Information and Referral Services – a clearinghouse for questions about services for seniors and persons with disabilities – provides information about options for care, assessments, referrals for in-home care; 2) home delivered meals; 3) in-home services – eligibility for funded services is determined by your income/assets/disabilities – call the central office for more information; 4) pre-admission screening for nursing home services – call the Lafayette office to apply for that service; 5) transportation – provides vans, etc. for the other rural counties; 6) Family Caregiver Program to assist caregivers of older adults as well as grandparents/relatives raising children through education, support groups, respite and other services.

Dementia Support Group

Monthly support group sponsored by the Generations Unit of St. Clare Medical Center.  The group meets the second Tuesday of the month at 11:30 am.  Free lunch is available for the caregiver and Alzheimer patient when accompanied by a caregiver. Staff people are available to assist with Alzheimer patient during the meeting.

Telecheck provides a daily telephone call to any individual in the local calling area.  The caller checks to make sure that everything is okay and summons help if needed.  Calls are made six days a week.   Telecheck is a project of the Christian Nursing Service.
