This organization serves the public in providing educational learning opportunities. One such offering through Consumer & Family Sciences Programming is Making Your Money Work; a program that increases the financial stability of low-literacy, low income participants. The program consists of six 90 minute sessions to be presented by a facilitator in a workshop setting over at least a six-week period. In addition, the facilitator will conduct an individual session with each participant.  If you would like to have this educational workshop brought to your group or have further questions contact Joy Dugan, Consumer and Family Sciences Extension Educator.


Another program offering is Focus on Financial Management, this workshop seeks to help us gain confidence, increase financial skills and develop a better understanding of financial matters.
Topics include:  Getting Organized & Money Personalities, Goal setting, record keeping, communication.  Net Worth & Credit Cards, Income/Expense, Assets/Liabilities, Savings/Spending and Credit Card Terms, Credit Rating.  Savings & Investing, Banking, loans, savings, investing, options, time value of money.  Risk Management, Savings on Insurance, questions to ask, how to compare policies, long term care insurance, life insurance.  Life’s Challenges, Making a Will, Letter of Last Instruction, Divorce.  Retirement, Life Expectancy, Planning for Retirement, Allocating Assets, Retirement Realities

MUFFY conducts an annual comprehensive fund-raising drive in Montgomery County with heavy reliance on gifts through payroll deduction.  Funds are allocated to not-for-profit agencies serving the needs of Montgomery County.  Agencies receiving MUFFY funds are designated with an M symbol in this directory. Any not-for-profit agency providing services in Montgomery County is eligible to apply for MUFFY funding.

Provides relief for victims of the elements (natural or manmade disasters) in Montgomery County through coordination with Federal relief agencies such as FEMA.  Acts as a local support agency to local emergency services by helping access state and federal government for material and monetary assistance in time of disaster.
